The top 4 beaches on Samaná

 In Dominican Republic, General

The weather is slowly starting to become uncomfortable, and fall drags us down a bit. How about walking along a sunny beach and diving into crystal clear Caribbean water? Here is a tip on the four most beautiful beaches on the Samaná peninsula.

  1. Playa Rincon

“Playa Rincon” is one of the most beautiful in the Dominican Republic, as it is still almost untouched. A walk along the kilometer-long, almost deserted beach is a must. Kiosks offer fish dishes and there is a freshwater spring where you can wash off the sand. You can rest and relax while gazing at the turquoise sea, while green boats rock in the evening light.

  1. Las Galeras

“Las Galeras” is the easternmost town on the peninsula. There is a dreamlike remote beach area right next to the village. The bay is surrounded by hills, boats float in the shallow water and palm trees provide shade. A scent of freshly caught crayfish and roasted fish drifts through the air. Here, you can relax and unwind.

  1. Cayo Levantado

The tiny little island is known as “Bacardi Island”. This is where the famous commercial about the drink was shot. This picturesque jewel seems to have been scattered into the sea by human hands. It is surrounded by coral limestone sand and can only be reached by boat.

  1. Playa Cosón

“Playa Cosón” is located in front of the village Las Terrenas. It is perfect for a long walk at sunset. During the day you can surf or kitesurf here – there are no limits when it comes to enjoying water sports.
